Lost

Posted on Updated on

I saw, sought and took the shot
Heeding a strange voice that numbs control
Lending motion to emotions held at bay
A moment of no restraints
Succumbing to what thrills, yet profane

Free like a bird, I’d sing
But the hollow remains what it is:
Hollow. Sunken. Empty
Gallivanting in captivity
A flighty bird in a see-through cage
Freedom in bondage

A part of me is missing
Nay, not entirely gone
It shrinks and dwindles
A dying ember longing to be fanned
Mumbling from a place remote
Stifled and bound, seeking liberty

I miss the familiar voice
That directs against the temptress’ wiles
How did I get here?
To this brink of glaring abyss
Fleeting bliss that choked my peace
I have to find my way back

I miss HIM

Wow! I see you finally did take Topazo’s advice, to delve into poetry and I gotta say that a lotta thoughts went into reeling out these deep lines, that looks to me like a man’s fall from grace to grass! And with that came the realization to find his way back home, which is pretty commendable, cause he does infact still has a conscience!

As mortals, we rise to fall and fall to rise, noone’s immune, we’re not infallible! The real victory however, lies in owning up to our mistakes, making concerted efforts to learn from ’em and be the better for ’em! That way, you can be sure that when you’re confronted with such an adversary again, you’d stand fast and it’d simply be a walk in the park! Cause, you’ve been there, and done that and now, you’re indeed; so much more, than a mere conqueror! And that ma Fairy Godbooboo’s the real liberty right there! Ya dig?! *winks* LMAO!

Love the choice of title, and every line, in each of the verses is so indepth, apt! And the final lines will have the Creator and the hosts of Heaven rejoicing! He’s ever waiting with open hands, always! Keep soaring bro, kudos! LOL

I think when one reads from Guru Maharhajis of poem and its related arts, it rubs off on one. Many more grounds to cover, methinks. Wotchu think Sir Topazo? *winks*

*in a “familiar” person’s words* I’m so bowled over by this comment! Glad I got help, I probably would’ve lost it with the erstwhile title.

The Creator and hosts shall indeed rejoice. Amen. Thanks a lot!

    This is sheer brilliance!
The emotions are real and deep…
    We fall, it hurts
    We beat ourselves down
    Wallow in the darkness
But He is just a prayer away…
Just whisper it, don’t shout it
    Peace and light will answer
    His presence will be unveiled
It never went, it just was shrouded

    The push,
    The fall…

The ride sounds like a folly.
    Was it a worthy folly?

A fresh rise to self realisation.
    A new beginning.
    Oh! What joy abounds.

Nay, a mistake isn’t one unless it is repeated.
So Smile, dance in the rain
    For you get a do over;
    A second chance…

    Take it!
    The familiar voice awaits…

The dog that would get lost will turn a deaf ear to the hunter’s whistling, but what about the plight of a willing dog, afraid of getting lost but found various hunters in the forest whistling at the same time.
-Sometimes, ‘losting’ just can’t be helped. **winks**
The onus is on the dog to diligently locate its owner ASAP, else ogun (the god of iron) lurketh around seeking for dogs to devour.
    Brave and nice writeup, señor.
That line- ‘freedom in bondage’, makes me look for my thinking cap.
    Thumbs up.

Took a while to respond to this ‘cuz you practically made me see it from another perspective.

It’s a thing to be lost, realise it and then want to come back. It’s another thing to actually do the comeback through the right channel, safe the confusion. I get the drift. *winks*

Always in need of my very own “cap” every time I read your comments. Thanks for dropping by Mr John.
