To The Faceless Woman

Posted on Updated on

faceless-woman

The day ends in a few tick-tocks

Proletariat’s period of relief

Couple of days off the routines

She must have had the smile on her face

This I know ‘cuz I had it too

Beaming, packing… beaming again

Whistling all songs and no song

The weekend is here!

Keep calm little mini-me, Jane

Momma is coming home

We can have our girl-time soon

Hold on hubby

A weather to ― ahem…

Hold the thought till I’m home, try!

The weekend is here Màámi

Your jokes and drama I really miss

We’ll chat and laugh like old times

Life and the many roles we play

But Momma never came

Wife lost the warmth

Daughter never showed up

All along was the hood-man

Lurking with a scythe and a cold mien

Trailing the wheels till the very end

A clash, a fall and a thud

A smashing sound and the gory scene

Altered feature of a once beautiful face

Abrupt end to plans and aspirations

Dreams and whims doomed to fizzle

A painful and rushed exit

I hope she finds home

I wish she had what it takes

To rest and have peace

Sleep on

Sleep well

Dedicated to a faceless woman who lost her life in a motorcycle accident.

Sometimes, life can be so cruel one would consider going back through time to undo some really disheartening events. We can’t. It hurts.

If I could have it my way, I would have loved that your first time here coincide with a post that will warm your heart instead.

Thanks for dropping by Sa’eedah, we’ve got chilled expensive drinks and tasty menu, if the visitor would stay put a lil’ bit.

You paint a grisly picture here Senor, but most importantly and worth mentioning is how you breathed and brought to life what I’d refer to as the ‘Power Of One! To the authorities and casual bystanders, the victim’s a ‘Jane Doe’…unknown, anonymous…faceless; but not quite so to her loved ones! The ones who really knew her as no stranger, and have been left bereft of her presence! She was a daughter, a sister, a wife, a mum, a friend, a soulmate…a capital deal! Not indispensable, but greatly invaluable! She was just one person, but the void that’s been left in the wake of her passing, may never really be filled by another mortal! Its real sad and makes clear just how fleeting our lives are! I do hope and pray that she does find rest in the bosom of our Lord, I also pray God to give her family and friends the fortitude to bear her loss IJN, AMEN!

Thanks for sharing Joe, carry on! 👉

Insignificant to many (perhaps), but a real capital deal!

Life goes on they say. For the loved ones though, it will only go on with a limp. Sad sad sad!

Thank you for reading and dropping this. Carrying on; following the path the finger points at.

Senor Joe this one was really beautiful. A painful reality, so vividly illustrated. Thank you for this wonderful reminder.

I guess illustration can only scratch the surface of the damage to the family― the several pieces she completed.

      Thanks Zik!

And in a second all is lost,
Snuffed out, a life is plucked
A wound is made, a chasm created
And everything will never be the same.

Great lines Doc! A concise sum of a moment’s tragedy and the dents on several moments thereafter.

It’s been a long while sir! ‘Tis nice reading from you again.
